Today our class created Egyptian funerary masks as part of our ancient civilizations unit. This hands-on project helps students connect more deeply with Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife and the importance of preserving identity after death. By designing their own masks, students explored how the Ancient Egyptians honor the dead and prepare for the journey to the afterlife. It’s a creative way to bring history to life and reinforce key concepts like mummification, polytheism, and cultural expression. Plus, the kids loved it!
